CLE at JCPLL: Legislative Update for the 2023 Session of the Kentucky General Assembly with Bob Heleringer
Join us on Tuesday, June 27th at 12 noon for an informative recap of the 2023 KY General Assembly session. Attorney Bob Heleringer will be discussing the many bills enacted by the legislature, focusing on those that he feels will most affect the practice of law in the state.
Laws to be analyzed in this course include:
HB 551 – Sports Betting bill
HB 3 – Juvenile Justice Reform Act
SB 126 – Change of Venue bill
SB 150 – Anti-transgender bill (Dept of Education Guidance/Interpretation included/discussed)
HB 594 – Redefining and banning of “Skill game machines”
SB 47 – Medical marijuana bill (legalization)

Bob Heleringer received his A.B. from Xavier University in 1973 and his JD from UofL in 1976. He is a practicing attorney with a general practice and also served as a Kentucky State Representative from 1980 to 2002. Mr. Heleringer is the author of a legal textbook, “Equine Regulatory Law” (2012).
